Custom Balls are manufactured in the same way as normal sports balls and with the same materials.
The big difference is that during manufacture they have YOUR Logo, design or message ..or all 3!... imprinted on the ball as a permanent reminder or selling tool.
With Custom Balls you need to allow time for shipping from Asian factories and fitting in production time. Custom balls are not an off the shelf product!
Sports balls cannot simply be overprinted successfully after manufacture due to their rounded surface and either glossy or pebbled finish so have to be printed at time of manufacture to ensure success and a lasting print.
Balls take a minimum of 16 weeks to arrive from time of receipt of an official order, and once all design details have been resolved. This is due to the fact that they are manufactured in various ball factories in the Far East and a relatively small quantity has to be slotted in to a large production time frame and then shipped via container to the UK.
Quicker turnarounds can be achieved but can be very expensive due to single shipping costs.
Minimum quantities tend to be in the region of 150 items per ball size for standard rubber balls, you cannot mix and match sizes in that quantity, and vary slightly depending on the type of ball required.
Higher specification balls such as Match Balls are only printed in a minimum quantity of 288.
Basketballs are manufactured in a variety of sizes.
Other sports such as Football, Netball, Volleyball who use a size 5 as their official size ball are only manufactured in the lower end sizes.
