Basketball Rings come in two types, solid basketball rings and flex basketball rings.
Solid basketball rings are, as the name suggests, a rigid ring suitable for recreational basketball play. They vary in standard from a basic ring, like the Sureshot 203e basketball ring, used on basketball portables and recreational basketball backboards, right through to the Gladiator Basketball ring, which is one of the strongest basketball rings in the world for outdoor use.
Flex basketball rings are designed to meet the rigours of basketball practice and basketball match play, to allow the basketball ring to 'flex' on a set of springs when it is 'dunked' on, thus helping prevent damage to the basketball backboard and support structure.
These vary in strength through the basic basketball flex ring, like the Sureshot 215 model, used on portable basketball units, the ideal leisure centre and school sports hall use, like the Sureshot 277 basketball flex ring, the National League Basketball Match Play flex ring, like the Sureshot 270 to the top of the range International specification Basketball flex ring, like the Sureshot 299 Basketball flex ring.
When fitting basketball rings to institutional boards there should always be a proper support frame behind the board to help ease the strain on the ring and prevent backboard breakage.
